More than drawing.
More than writing.

A sketchbook can become a personal space to notice, explore, remember and reflect. Sketchbook journaling brings together simple drawing, words, observation, photographs, memories, textures, colour and everyday experiences.

You don't need to be an artist. There's no requirement to create a beautiful drawing or produce a finished artwork. The purpose is to develop a habit of looking more carefully, and responding more freely.

You might sketch a cup on your table, a plant near the window, an old family photograph, an interesting texture, or simply make marks and notes that express what caught your attention. Over time, your sketchbook becomes a visual record of what you saw, what you noticed, what you thought and what mattered to you.

A little about the person behind the sketchbook journal workshops.

✦ Why I started sketchbooking

As a Creative Entrepreneur, I work through Corporate IxDesigners on digital experiences, creative projects and design challenges. It means that much of my everyday life is spent in a fast moving digital world.

I began using a sketchbook as a way to slow down, take a break from the digital world, and pay closer attention to everyday life.

A sketchbook gave me a place to draw what I noticed, write down thoughts, collect visual references, and reflect on things that might otherwise have gone unnoticed.

Over time, I began sharing these experiences with others and encouraging them to make daily art journaling part of their own lives.

These workshops grew from that simple idea: what if we made a little more space in our everyday lives to look, create, and reflect?

Let's build something great together. Start with one page. One small page today. Another tomorrow. And another the day after.

Why keep a sketchbook?

✱

You don't need an hour, expensive materials, or even prior drawing skill. The practice can begin with ten to twenty minutes a day.

A small daily practice can change how you see your everyday life.

Slow down

Give yourself a deliberate pause from the constant movement of everyday life.

Observe more carefully

Notice shapes, light, shadows, textures and small details that normally pass unnoticed.

Express thoughts visually

A line, a colour, a photograph or a simple drawing can say something words alone can't.

Remember everyday moments

Your pages gradually become a visual diary of places, people, ideas and experiences.

Build creative confidence

The emphasis is on exploration, not on producing perfect artwork.

Create a personal archive

Over months and years, your sketchbooks become a unique record of your journey.
